Ambassador FAQ
The XO-Boom is very intuitive to operate. The exoskeleton becomes an extension of your body and supports the weight of the boom pole. The boom operator does his job similarly to how they always have, but greatly reducing fatigue and risk of injury.
No.
The XO-Boom is fully adjustable and a true one-size-fits-all solution!

Like any professional tool, practice makes perfect.
However, with that said, once you get the AntigravityCam vest on your body and familiarize yourself with the system's design, you will be able to start to achieve dynamic shots right away. The learning curve, especially compared to other body-mounted systems, is not very steep. The most important thing is to begin to understand the two sets of elastic bands and how each affects the camera and/or gimbal you are flying.
Yes.
Many great shots have been achieved while going through doorways.
Contact us directly to check if any AntigravityCam packages are available. When we run out of stock, the turnaround for new units tends to be three to eight weeks.
Additionally, B&H Photo/Video and Adorama may have them in stock if we do not.
The AntigravityCam generally suspends a three axis motorized gimbal for fully stabilized shots. It does not require counterweights and has a much lower profile. It allows the lens to nearly scrape the floor and rise to 3 feet (0.9 meters) above the operator's head in a steady move with the jib extension.
The Steadicam has a much steeper learning curve as the operator is responsible for angular stabilization as well as spatial stabilization. The Steadicam is a counter weighted system thereby almost doubling the camera load which limits the duration of the shot due to operator fatigue. The boom range of a Steadicam is generally about 2 1/2 to 3 feet.
Both systems remove footsteps. Because the AntigravityCam does not use counterweights it can be worn for a much longer time.
The AntigravityCam system is very intuitive to operate. The gimbal and camera floats in front of you on its own gravity and the operator simply guides it through space. No effort is required to remove footsteps as the vest has dual suspension systems and is completely iso-elastic.

Measure from your front hip point to the top middle of your shoulder.
If the distance is less than 20 inches (50 cm) - order a Short size.
If the distance is more than 20 inches (50 cm) - order a Tall size.
Your front hip point is the part that feels like the tip of the triangle in your hip on the front side that is right around your belt line.

Works great! Most women prefer to adjust the midriff strap either above or below their chest line, and some prefer it to sit straight across.
In addition to the original model, we have introduced the Ergorig CenterFit which many female operators find more comfortable.
We designed the CenterFit model at the request of female operators that felt that the Classic Ergorig could have been more comfortable to their physique. To that end, the CenterFit puts the front load bearing plates in line with the sternum therefore creating no uneven pressure on the chest.
Some male operators use the Ergorig CenterFit as well, but the majority of CenterFits have been purchased by female operators.
We do not rent the Ergorig directly, but work with a series of rental houses. You can find a list here.
Yes. Absolutely!
Your Ergorig can be transformed with our "Ergorig CF Upgrade Kit" which comes with everything you need. Just turn a few knobs, bolts and screws then replace the plates and voila!

About 50 pounds.
Though the system removes the weight from the operators arms, it is not meant for hands-free operation.
Yes, the system utilizes a webbing cinch mechanism that works with any camera handle and can accommodate all handle diameters.
The Undersling works at variable heights.
The beauty of the Undersling system is that it can suspend the camera at any height. At the heart of the Undersling is a variable capture release mechanism that cinches to the camera handle.
The Riser positions the elastomer at a higher origination point above the shoulder that enables the camera to be suspended just under the shoulder, helpful for tall operators to get eye level shots with shorter actors.
No.
The Undersling can also suspend a camera from any overhead support pole such as a speed rail rig, Jib, or the boom arm of an Easyrig. It can also suspend the ZeeGee by strapping the mechanism to the shovel handle adapter.

The ZeeGee can handle up to a total payload of 70 lbs./32 kilos.
Any arm that can lift 30 to 50 pounds, (13 to 22 kilos,) is advisable. It should either have a 5/8” (15mm,) or 3/4” (19mm,) post.
Yes.
You can mount the ZeeGee directly on any light stand, 5/8" baby pin. The Dock is not required but highly recommended.
We also offer a Mitchell mount adapter to connect to legacy stationary and moving platforms such as tripods, camera dollies and jib arms that have a standard Mitchell mount.
The ZeeGee can be mounted on:
Any stand with baby 5/8” pin
The Cinema Devices Mitchell mount adapter
Cinema Devices' Undersling Grip Configuration
“J” Bracket, etc.
See the Hard-Mounted Options video:
Any camera body up to 8 inch wide.
Yes. The ZeeGee can be used “Underslung” with the base top-mounted for minimal under camera clearance.
This is possible with the use of a Garfield tight mount.
Both the ZeeGee and Dock are required to use the ZeeGee with a Steadicam arm. Other items are optional.
In order to minimize camera shake you have to completely isolate the motion of the Steadicam arm from affecting the camera by, on the ZeeGee, releasing the tilt and cradle roll plunger as well as completely removing the tilt brake and pan brake at the base. The blue tilt drag knob should also be turned fully counter clockwise so that all three axis on the ZeeGee are as low friction as possible.
A little bottom heavy on the gray center of gravity knobs is recommended.
Your arm spring tension should provide enough lift to support the camera height where you would like it to be without having to lift or push down on the ZeeGee handles. If you have a neutral “ride” cam on your arm it is also advisable to add that.
Once the camera is balanced and the ZeeGee low friction, another recommended technique is to guide the ZeeGee with a looser grip. (Do not not “death grip” the handles.)
Try these suggestions, and let us know if you need any more assistance.
Currently we are offering one on one demos at our facility in San Fernando, California. If you are interested please email adam@cinemadevices.com or call 310-415-3331 to schedule a demo.
We have a camera for testing but you will need to bring your own Steadicam arm and vest with you.
We do not rent the ZeeGee but are collaborating with several rental houses and will be providing a list shortly.
Most Steadicam styles should work.
