AntigravityCam FAQs
Like any professional tool, practice makes perfect.
However, with that said, once you get the AntigravityCam vest on your body and familiarize yourself with the system's design, you will be able to start to achieve dynamic shots right away. The learning curve, especially compared to other body-mounted systems, is not very steep. The most important thing is to begin to understand the two sets of elastic bands and how each affects the camera and/or gimbal you are flying.
Yes.
Many great shots have been achieved while going through doorways.
Contact us directly to check if any AntigravityCam packages are available. When we run out of stock, the turnaround for new units tends to be three to eight weeks.
Additionally, B&H Photo/Video and Adorama may have them in stock if we do not.
The AntigravityCam generally suspends a three axis motorized gimbal for fully stabilized shots. It does not require counterweights and has a much lower profile. It allows the lens to nearly scrape the floor and rise to 3 feet (0.9 meters) above the operator's head in a steady move with the jib extension.
The Steadicam has a much steeper learning curve as the operator is responsible for angular stabilization as well as spatial stabilization. The Steadicam is a counter weighted system thereby almost doubling the camera load which limits the duration of the shot due to operator fatigue. The boom range of a Steadicam is generally about 2 1/2 to 3 feet.
Both systems remove footsteps. Because the AntigravityCam does not use counterweights it can be worn for a much longer time.
The AntigravityCam system is very intuitive to operate. The gimbal and camera floats in front of you on its own gravity and the operator simply guides it through space. No effort is required to remove footsteps as the vest has dual suspension systems and is completely iso-elastic.
